Laurie Wirthlin, MD
Dr. Wirthlin joined Open Door at Christmas time 2008. She came to us from Forth Worth, Texas, where she worked for the past 16 years as an Emergency Room & Urgent Care Pediatrician and did locums work for the Private Pediatricians in town.
Dr. Wirthlin graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1987 and then completed her Pediatrics Residency in 1990 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences & Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She then did 2 years of private Pediatric practice before moving to Ft. Worth, Texas.
She has worked internationally in Africa and Latin America in various Medical Mission projects as a Mission team member.
Dr. Wirthlin is an avid dog lover, and has rescued and adopted Great Pyrenees dogs (she has 4 at the moment!) She has a large doll collection and currently is focusing on antique dolls and recreating period clothing for them.
Dr Wirthlin has been charmed by the beauty of the Northcoast and happy to be here!
