The mission of Open Door and the opportunity to be able to provide quality care to all regardless of financial, geographic, and social barriers” attracted Constance to Open Door. She is looking forward to being part of an interdisciplinary team.

Her focus for her doctorate was the implementation of ACES screening in pediatric primary care. Prior to her career as a Pediatric NP she worked as a Public Health Nurse for Child Welfare Services in the Emergency Response Unit in Humboldt County. She also served in Trinity County as a Public Health Nurse. Her areas of interest include health equity, mental health, children with special health care needs, and addressing trauma in primary care.

Humboldt County has been her home for about 20 years, with a couple short stents away to
Weaverville and Sacramento. She was raised between the Sacramento Valley and Southwest
Virginia.

Constance originally ended up on the North Coast to go to nursing school at HSU. She fell in love with the area, developed strong connections to the community, as well as friendships that became her family.

Her hobbies include reading, community service, food preservation, music, adventures, and roller-skating.

Constance practices at Eureka Community Health Center.
