Isabel Lopes, MD
Doctor of Medicine
We are pleased and proud to announce the addition of Isabel Lopes, MD, to our Medical staff. We are fortunate to have her return to Open Door to assist with our HIV/Infectious Disease patients in Southern Humboldt.
Dr. Lopes earned her Medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, CA. Her residency was in Internal Medicine at Loma Linda University Health, also in Loma Linda. She went on to complete an Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. She is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.
Dr. Lopes has lived in Humboldt County for a while but was raised in Massachusetts. She originally came to the North Coast via her spouse, Dr. Nathan Brinckhaus and is looking forward to working with Open Door and the Ryan White HIV Program.
Dr Lopes enjoys reading/teaching, spending time with family/friends, exploring new cultures/cuisine, wellness and international medical missions.
Her and her husband have two beautiful girls Aria (5) and Ava (3). She strives to treat every patient with compassion, respect, and dignity; and she enjoys a good laugh.
Isabel practices at the Fortuna Community Health Center.
